Advertising Disclosure
Apply Academy is an editorial website. To keep our content free and our editorial team paid, we use several monetization methods. This page explains each, so you understand how money flows and how it doesn’t influence what we publish.
1. Display advertising
We display Google AdSense advertisements throughout the site. These ads are served automatically based on page content, your browsing history (if consented), and advertiser bids.
We have no influence over which specific ads appear on any given page. Our editorial team does not review or approve individual advertisements. To adjust ad personalization, visit Google Ads Settings.
2. Affiliate links
In some articles, we include affiliate links to products, tools, or services we recommend. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
Affiliate links are disclosed at the top of the article and inline with visual indicators.
Our standards for affiliate links
- We only link to products we’ve personally tested or have strong evidence work for most users
- We never accept payment to give a positive review
- We include negative points when applicable (even for affiliate partners)
- Affiliate commission does not change our recommendation order
- We disclose the commercial relationship when it exists
3. Sponsored content (rare, always labeled)
Occasionally, a company may sponsor a piece of content on Apply Academy. When this happens, the article includes a clear label at the top saying “Sponsored by [company]”. The sponsor receives no approval rights over the final wording beyond factual accuracy about their product. We maintain editorial standards, no false claims, no medical/financial advice disguised as review.
4. What we do NOT do
- We do not sell user data
- We do not accept payment for positive reviews
- We do not hide affiliate relationships
- We do not inflate product ratings based on commission tier
- We do not write fake reviews or testimonials
- We do not publish “advertorial” disguised as editorial
5. Editorial independence
Advertising revenue and editorial operations are separated. Our writers are never asked to alter coverage based on commercial considerations.
6. Compliance
We follow US FTC guidelines on endorsements, UK ASA guidance on affiliate marketing, EU Digital Services Act transparency, and Google AdSense program policies.
